My Facebook feed was blowing up with all the first day of school pictures and I was one of the guilty ones, posting my kids' pictures everywhere!

A person I'm friends with -- who has no children, but does have stepchildren -- posted this on Facebook ...

"Sadly, I see all these hundreds of parents checking in or posting photos of their kids and the schools they are in..... KNOWING we are in a age of cyber criminals that can now have a much easier time finding your children... knowing their ages and even classes or teachers. Come on, parents, let's be smarter than the ppl who are trying to hurt us and our kids."

But wait: Isn't that what Facebook is for? Sharing photos, life experiences and connecting people?

You're obviously seeing my photo because you're my friend. I have my security settings as tight as they can be, and everyone has that option.

Is that enough, though? Are we over-sharing on Facebook and is it putting our kids at risk?
