After the deadliest mass shooting in American history took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sunday (Oct. 1), the organizers of Texas’ ACL Music Festival are offering refunds to ticket buyers who may feel too unsafe to attend. The 2017 ACL Music Festival is scheduled for Oct. 6-8 and Oct. 13-15.

ACL Music Festival organizers have announced that they would issue refunds for this year's festival, scheduled to take place at Austin’s Zilker Park, reports Austin360. Organizers say, however, that as of Tuesday morning (Oct. 3), they have only received two requests for refunds from customers who are no longer interested in attending the large outdoor festival.

Country Stars Respond Following Route 91 Harvest Festival Shooting

In light of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting, in which 59 people were killed and more than 500 people were injured, the City of Austin has announced that security will be of the utmost important at this year’s ACL Music Festival. Prior to the shooting, the festival had announced that it would implement more stringent security measures, including banning e-cigarettes and setting restrictions on the size of bags that can be carried into the park.

“We will have plenty of officers that will be visible," Austin Interim Police Chief Brian Manley tells the Austin American Statesman, "but we will also have plenty that will not be visible, strategically placed, that will only come out if necessary to address any specific incidents."

All refunds for the ACL Music Festival will be issued via Front Gate Tickets.
