During what have been some of the roughest weeks in Miranda Lambert‘s personal life, things just seem to be getting harder and harder to get through. Over the weekend (Saturday, Jan. 21), Lee Brice was the latest country star to fall victim to an unexpected bus fire that destroyed his home on wheels. After pulling into Toby Keith‘s I Love This Bar and Grill restaurant in Mesa, Ariz., the back end of Brice’s Prevost tour bus caught on fire, but everyone escaped with minimal damage. Brice is now reflecting on the scare.
Trace Adkins will take a different approach to his usual headlining arena shows this spring. The iconic country star plans to strip down his set and play in more intimate theater settings on his just-announced Songs and Stories Tour.
Luke Bryan returns to the top this week with the No. 1 country song in the country, ‘I Don’t Want This Night to End.’ Bryan co-wrote the tune with the Peach Pickers (Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip — who were also named the BMI and ASCAP 2011 Songwriters of the Year) for the singer’s latest album, ‘Tailgates and Tanlines.’ The tune was the second release from the album, following hot on the heels of his ‘Country Girl (Shake It for Me),’ a song Bryan co-wrote with Davidson.
During Saturday night’s Virtual Reality Tour stop in Denver, Colo. (Jan. 21), Brad Paisley called hometown hero Tim Tebow — who was at the show with his brothers and friends — to the stage. The Denver Broncos quarterback was brought onstage prior to Paisley performing his No. 1 hit, ‘I’m Still a Guy,’ and the athlete helped the singer out, doing surprise duet for the unsuspecting crowd.
