Jason Aldean is a perfect three-for-three in Taste of Country Showdowns. Last night his new song ‘Take a Little Ride’ took care of Sara Evans‘ new single ‘Anywhere.’ The laid-back lead single from his upcoming album will need plenty of support online this afternoon, and tonight on Taste of Country Nights radio to topple a fourth challenger. Remember, five wins in a row gets a song to the Showdown Hall of Fame.
Jason Aldean fans clashed with fans of Brantley Gilbert on Friday night during a Showdown between friends and collaborators. After the online voting was added to phone calls from Taste of Country Nights radio, ‘Take a Little Ride’ by Aldean emerged as the new champion, grabbing just under 60 percent of the votes to 40 percent for ‘Kick It in the Sticks.’
Yesterday’s Showdown was the most voted on ever! Fans of Brantley Gilbert and Eric Church displayed their loyalty, casting votes until the last seconds of the contest on Taste of Country Nights radio. In the end, Gilbert’s ‘Kick It in the Sticks’ won with just over 60 percent of the vote, meaning the soon-to-be hit song will take on another challenger. Today, it’s a good friend of the ‘Halfway to Heaven’ famer.
Two of country music’s outlaws square off on today’s Taste of Country Showdown. The battle will end with an assault of phone call voting on Taste of Country Nights radio on Thursday night. You can vote now for either returning champion Eric Church and his song ‘Creepin’,’ or challenger Brantley Gilbert‘s new single ‘Kick It in the Sticks.’
One of the songs fans of the FARM will be talking about after listening to their new self-titled debut album is track No. 4, ‘Be Grateful.’ It’s a song about appreciating what you have, rather than complaining about what you don’t. Nick Hoffman, Damien Horne and Krista Marie prove they’re doing just that in this new video, premiering exclusively on Taste of Country.
There is a new Showdown champion! After almost record voting yesterday and last night on Taste of Country Nights radio, Eric Church‘s new single ‘Creepin” kinged Tim McGraw‘s ‘Truck Yeah’ by an almost two-to-one margin. The fourth single from Church’s ‘Chief’ album seems poised to be another big song for the North Carolina-born country star. It could even become his third straight No. 1 hit.
After thousands of votes, Tim McGraw‘s ‘Truck Yeah’ clipped Kip Moore‘s ‘Beer Money’ by fewer than 40 votes on Monday. A last second push by McGraw fans on Taste of Country Nights radio gave the country-rocker an edge that held up. That makes three in a row for the lead single from McGraw’s new album. Two more and the track will be retired to the Showdown Hall of Fame.
Kitty Wells, a woman who paved a trail for legends like Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, has died. Nashville’s WTVF television reports that the ‘It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels’ singer passed away in her home on Monday morning (July 16).
It’s difficult to overstate how important ‘Kick It in the Sticks’ is to Brantley Gilbert‘s career and the direction of country music. It’s a line drawn in the red Georgia clay — after two releases that held back — to allow those not previously familiar with the Jefferson-born singer to get acquainted with his pacing and style. This is his ‘Free Bird,’ in that it’s the first song fans and critics will mention in association with this talented artist.
The Mavericks couldn’t have timed their reunion more perfectly. The ’90s hitmakers bring their familiar sound back to country radio with ‘Born to Be Blue,’ a track from their new ‘Suited Up and Ready’ EP. Too often, getting the old band back together produces tired rewrites of a classic sound. The Mavericks have managed to keep their signature style without alienating younger fans.
Easton Corbin fans gave country superstar Tim McGraw a fight on last night’s Showdown, but ‘Lovin’ You Is Fun’ came up a few votes short, meaning ‘Truck Yeah’ is the new champion. Tonight, McGraw’s rock-country hit from his upcoming album will face off against another song that will bring a wide grin to the countriest of country boys. Vote for either ‘Truck Yeah’ or Craig Morgan‘s ‘Corn Star’ here, and then listen to the battle tonight at 10PM on Taste of Country Nights.
Jason Clucas has his brother to thank for winning the Toby Keith flyaway to Las Vegas. The Peabody, Mass. native says he wouldn’t have gotten into country music without his bro’s influence. That led him to Toby Keith, who he is a huge fan of, then to Taste of Country — and now, to Sin City to watch the singer play at the Red Rock Casino on August 11.
