In our line of work, we meet lots of artists -- stars from all over the place.

But it's a special treat when you get to hang out with someone as easygoing and accessible as Jason Michael Carroll.

When he showed up Sunday night for his concert at the Seasons Performance Hall, he took more than an hour to meet with several dozen fans at a special VIP gathering backstage.

Along with the Yakima Valley's American Honey, who opened the show, he chatted at tables, shared drinks, swapped stories and signed autographs, showing none of the fatigue he must've been feeling as he got set for his fifth show in five nights.

He couldn't have been warmer or more approachable. Genuinely nice guy -- and as we all know, a true talent.

Here's a little of what it looked like backstage.
