Has rising country star Brantley Gilbert sparked a national craze? According to the Social Security Administration, as reported by the ‘Today Show‘ and ABCnews.com, the singer’s first name, Brantley, has skyrocketed from from No. 736 to No. 320 on the list of the most popular baby names, leading many to believe Gilbert has single-handedly started a baby boom revolution.

A simple search on Wikipedia of “Brantley” indicates that the country singer is the only individual with notable recognition and that unique first name. Coupled with the fact that Gilbert’s Valory Music Co. debut album ‘Halfway to Heaven’ has been certified gold, selling more than 500.000 copies, the speculation doesn’t seem too far-fetched.

2011 was certainly a banner year for the new singer. Gilbert scored his first No. 1 as a solo artist with ‘Country Must Be Country Wide,’ and also snagged a pair of chart-toppers as a songwriter with Jason Aldean‘s ‘Dirt Road Anthem’ and ‘My Kinda Party.’ The three tunes sold a combined 5.5 million digital copies, according to iTunes.
