Capt. Richard Phillips, Who Faced Down Somali Pirates, Will Speak In Kennewick

When the movie "Captain Phillips" came out with Tom Hanks, I rushed to the theater because it was Tom Hanks! But as I watched the movie, I was filled with horror and disgust. Hanks was fantastic, however I could not believe what his character, Capt. Richard Phillips, had gone through after Somali pirates captured his unarmed cargo ship, the Maersk Alabama, in 2009.

It still troubles me that this kind of thing happens in the world. I remember thinking that I would love to meet the real Capt. Phillips to see how he is today. Well, we will get the chance!
The real Capt. Phillips is set to speak in Kennewick on Monday (April 17). Tickets are sold out, but what a story he will have to tell.
