Carrie Underwood Won’t Start Singing Love Songs

Carrie Underwood might be happily married to and in love with hockey husband Mike Fisher, but don’t expect Underwood’s personal life to inform her work right now.

CMT reports that in a recent radio chat, Underwood spoke about why fans won’t be seeing or hearing her dole out lovey dovey material on ‘Blown Away’ or beyond. Those types of tunes don’t represent her as an artist.

She said, “I’ve heard a lot of, ‘Oh, gosh, she’s married now. I would expect her to write a lot of love songs.’” But Underwood compared concerts to acting saying, “Being onstage is acting. You get to be larger than life and larger than yourself. The whole thing to me is just a big chance to just have fun — being able to sing a song like ‘Good Girl.’ Obviously, that’s not what I’m feeling in my life right now. I’m extremely happy, but I don’t do love songs for the most part. It just doesn’t happen. It feels weird. That’s just a personal thing to me. I’d rather live that in my real life.”

Underwood certainly has the guts to do what feels right, as opposed to what’s expected, in her music and in her brand. She recently spoke about how she has no interest in creating a fragrance, which is something many celebs are doing. Despite the fact that there is big bucks in scents, Underwood eschewed it, saying she’d be weirded out by someone smelling like her.
