August 26, 2011 On the last day of operation, Franklin Pool opens its doors from 2-4pm for dogs and their owners for a day of doggie swimming fun.
I seen and heard that this year will be a record breaker with Basketball teams from all over the Northwest takeover Downtown Yakima. It will be fun for all and if you have to travel through town make sure you use a different route so you can get where you are going on time, Yakima Ave will be block off and turned into basketball courts Friday night through Sunday.

As we are getting ready for a lot of events during the later part of Summer. A Case of the Blues and All That Jazz is a blues and jazz festival benefiting the community through the Yakima Greenway Foundation and Junior League of Yakima is back in the valley again this year.
The annual event has been held each August since 1993 in Sarg Hubbard Park in Terrace Heights
The festival features blues and jazz music, award-winning local wines and microbrews, delicious food from local establishments, and a silent auction.
I like it when the Yakima Valley salutes the hardworking farmer and their machinery. This always brings back good memories of working on the ranch and using tractors and other equipment to get the job done (sometimes with a lot of creativity of making tools and equipment to do a little more than what they were made for!)
