On the weekend of June 10-12, the Yakama Nation commemorated the Treaty of 1855. A brief history note: The treaty was signed on June 9, 1855. The tribe is the biggest reservation in Central Washington, with 11,000-plus enrolled members and situated on 1.1 million acres. Relay For Life Of Yakima Raises Big Dollars Despite Weather [VIDEO]

Relay for Life, spearheaded by the American Cancer Society, managed to raise some big dollars over the weekend even with weather being less than satisfactory. I was doing the announcements late Saturday at Franklin Middle School and the sun and clouds came and went making for a roller coaster day of highs and lows.
