Did you see these guys at the stoplight by Old Naches Highway and Highway 12 on Thursday?
I thought it was creative that they were trying to scrape up some money for gas -- instead of just standing out on the corner with a sign, they were entertaining for the donations. They even put on costumes.
The Selah Community Days parade is this Saturday and I have a long tradition of hosting the parade as the onstage announcer. I receive no compensation for my time, but I do love giving back to the community -- and that is one way each year that I can donate to various charities. This year, I thought it would be fun to peel back the curtain and reveal the five reasons why I love announcing the Selah parade.
And so the scepter -- or at least the trophy -- has passed.
The winner of our second annual Yakima's Sexiest Male Bartender contest has officially received his just due (and everyone's reasonably sincere admiration), leaving him behind the bar to keep taking our orders until a new king of cocktails is crowned.
