The students stood at attention, hands on their hearts, quietly waiting to recite the pledge of allegiance. A few moments earlier the second graders of Mrs. Pettijohn's class were bustling with the excitement they were going to be recorded for playback the radio. The looks on their faces were priceless as they were about to begin. Hearing their sweet voices pledge allegiance to our country's flag with passion and innocence sometimes gets to me, even though I've heard it a thousand times. There is a future for America, and we are proud to do our part in building community by visiting local schools to keep this program alive.
