Chili’s Waitress Fired For Making Negative Comment About Cops on Facebook

In November, Ashley Warden was fined $2,500 when a police officer spotted her three-year old son urinating on the front yard of her two-and-a-half acre property in rural Piedmont, Oklahoma. The cop was ultimately fired for issuing the ticket. But apparently Warden still holds a grudge against law enforcement, which she made known through a recent post to her Facebook page.

“Stupid Cops better hope I’m not their server FDP,” Warden, who was a waitress at the local Chili’s, wrote over the photo of a group of Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies.

The post went viral, with most commenters blasting Warden for her cryptic message. The fact that it started getting attention during Oklahoma’s law enforcement week contributed to the backlash.

When management at Chili’s caught wind of the controversy Warden was fired.

“Here at Chili’s, the privacy and safety of our guests as well as the quality of food we serve each day is of utmost importance,” Chili’s said in a statement. “With the changing world of digital and social media, Chili’s has Social Media Guidelines in place, asking our team members to always be respectful of our guests and to use proper judgment when discussing actions in the work place.”

“It could mean bad service, it could mean tampering with food,” explained Piedmont Police Chief Alex Oblein, who agreed with the dismissal. “You don’t know what it means. It just makes you a little weary.”

What do you think? Was Warden’s social media shot a fireable offense?
