Choose Your Friends — and Your Words

Facebook friends. What does it mean to be a friend on Facebook? On any given day you have thousands of interactions with people, if only a smile or a handshake. Maybe it's an email or a text, or a long conversation over a meal or adult beverage.

Being in radio and politics, I have the chance to meet and communicate with a lot of people. I have a few close friends and many acquaintances. I'm a very loyal person and I hold my friends (Facebook or not) to that same standard.

I think this social media world is good and bad. Whatever you do online reflects on you and your image. More people are watching than you think, so be careful and think twice before you like or comment on something controversial. You never know how it's going to come across to the rest of the world, and you might just find yourself explaining to your "friends" what that meant.
