Chris Stapleton snagged one more award for his Traveller album at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 21): Top Country Album. He took home the trophy due to the record’s astounding continued success since its release in 2015, two years prior to the awards.

Based on sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement, the Billboard Music Awards don’t lie. Stapleton certainly deserved the accolade, having sustained a popularity with one album many artists only dream of.

Stapleton’s Traveller earned the 2016 Billboard Music Award in the same category, and it has also garnered a Grammy for Best Country Album and a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. It shot to the top of the charts after Stapleton’s collaboration with Justin Timberlake at the 2015 CMA Awards and has been certified double-platinum by the RIAA.

From A Room: Volume 1 has not disappointed, debuting at No. 1 on several charts and living up to the sky-high expectations fans and critics had for it. Stapleton’s raw talent is the kind that stands the test of time, having been in the business for years as a songwriter, so here’s to another year of top songs from him.

Stapleton is currently on tour with opening artists like Brothers Osborne and Anderson East, continuing shows through the end of August.
