Marvel Studios certainly brought their A-game to Hall H at Comic-Con tonight, and while the panel was mostly focused around their 2015 releases ('Ant-Man' and 'Avengers 2' -- not too shabby), they did have some special surprises in store -- like confirmation of 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' and an official release date.

After we were treated to some special 'Avengers 2' footage, we were told that there was "one more thing" that Marvel wanted to share. Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' took the stage sporting the one and only Infinity Gauntlet. If you've been keeping up with the Marvel universe, you know that Thanos being in possession of the Gauntlet is big trouble.

Shortly after Brolin appeared, Marvel threw the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' logo up on the big screen, with the number two and an official release date scrawled on top of it. That's right, 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' is indeed confirmed, and will hit theaters on July 28, 2017 -- so now we know what at least one of those six scheduled Marvel mystery movies will be.

It was reported yesterday that James Gunn will return to write and direct the sequel, and Gunn and star Chris Pratt made a special appearance via video to announce the sequel to Hall H. We'll bring you more details as they emerge, but this is pretty exciting news.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' hits theaters on August 1.
