Couples Court: His Ex Overshadows Her at Every Turn
Nobody wants to live in the shadow of an ex -- EXspecially if you never seem to measure up to that ex.
That's the crux of this week's Couples Court ...
Dear Rik and Michele:
I've been dating a man who has been legally separated from his wife for almost two years. We've only dated for a couple of months, but since the beginning of our relationship, he would "one-up" me using his wife. Example, I told him I have a bachelor's. He would respond with,"That's it? Well, my wife has two bachelor's ..."
It was anything I can do, his wife can do better. It's gone farther and has involved my family and her family.
I am so frustrated and even with his promise that he will change, he doesn't seem to fix the issue.
My friends think I'm overreacting, but I don't think I can handle it any longer ... what do you suggest? I am about ready to end our relationship over this ... HELP!
What do you say, jurors? Should our plaintiff add an "ex" to her current boyfriend's title?
