Dear Rik and Michele:
My wife recently decided she wanted a totally new look. The other night, she came home with a ton of new clothing and a radically different hairstyle. To say I was shocked is an understatement.

She tried on some new clothes and asked, "Do I look fat in this?" She did! Her jeans were busting at the seams and screaming for help. I pretended my phone rang and began talking to a dead line because I did not want to answer the question.

She said she wants to buy more clothes like that. What should I say? Do I tell her she looks ridiculous or should I just say "You look great!"?
