The polar vortex has been rearing its cold and snowy head quite a bit lately, which can affect artists who are on the road touring. Last week, David Nail encountered a problem with icy roads when he was on his way to open a show for Darius Rucker in New York.

Nail is currently featured on Rucker's True Believers Tour with Eli Young Band, and the run made its way to Albany, New York on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14). Although it sounds like a sweet way to spend the lover's holiday, Nail's tour bus couldn't handle the icy conditions -- and they crashed!

“We ran off the road into the median,” Nail explains of the scary accident (quote via Country Weekly). “It was one of those experiences that I hope never happens again."

"It was one of those nights where you're kinda in and out of sleep. You have a hard enough time sleeping on the bus as it is," the singer adds.

The band probably didn't get much sleep that night, as Nail reveals he could feel every movement as they crashed. “You could totally feel it going out of control and just praying that it ends somewhere soft and that you don’t tip over or flip," he says.

Luckily, everyone was okay, and he wasn't going to let a little bad weather stop him from making the show -- and neither was Rucker. Rucker pulled his tour bus over to pick up Nail and his band.

The True Believers Tour began last year and still has some dates left for 2014.
