Do You Need His Permission to Change Your Hairstyle?

Dear Bull Pen:

I was having lunch on Wednesday with some girls from the office when I told them I am considering changing my hairstyle and color. One of them joked that I should ask my husband for permission first. This turned into a hot debate at the table. Half of the women said I should consult my husband while the other half said I shouldn't. If you are married or in a committed relationship, should you ask for permission before changing your hairstyle?

I don't fell like I have to ask permission from my husband to change my hairstyle or color, but I would certainly ask his opinion. I want him to like it as much as I do.
