I spent the weekend in the Seattle area and had a chance to visit the Willis Tucker Memorial Park, which is home to a really cool splash pad. I've seen drawings or concepts for a water feature like this and really feel like it's a no-brainier for Yakima.

This park was voted one of the best playgrounds by King 5 in their 2009 edition of "Best of Western WA." Now I can see why it won.

The park features three large shaded picnic area with tables that you can reserve for $50. We were there for a birthday party and it was a lot of fun. There is also a playground, a sandbox, nice public restrooms and plenty of parking.

Do you think Yakima could use a splash pad? Take our poll and tell us:
