• National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson is hopeful the spirit of cooperation that led to the passage of the bipartisan appropriations bill will continue through to the farm bill. Johnson says the omnibus spending bill and its accompanying report language is far from perfect.
  • In the first water supply forecast of 2014 - USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service National Water and Climate Center predicted a limited water supply west of the Continental Divide. Normal water supply is predicted east of the Continental Divide. The center monitors snowpack of 13 western states and provides periodic forecasts to help the West prepare for spring and summer snowmelt and streamflow.
  • The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s and the Public Lands Council government affairs office in Washington, D.C., are accepting applications for the fall 2014 public policy internship. The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 17, 2014.
