Losing weight and getting in shape is everyone's New Year's resolution, but doing it the Washington way is what I am talking about!

Here are four ways to get fit locally:

  1. There is only one greenway in the world that runs along the Yakima River and walking it three times a week is a great workout.
  2. Take a hike up the Naches River and do a little fishing. Cross the river for a view you can only get in Washington.
  3. White Pass skiing is one of a kind and you can only get that here, too. Skiing is the perfect workout.
  4. Hike the Yakima River Canyon between Selah and Ellensburg. Take in the spectacular scenery and benefit from the breathtaking climbs.
