As we reported earlier, Garth Brooks is headed up to Canada later this year to take part in the Calgary Stampede music festival, which will last from July 6 to July 15. Brooks will be bringing his show to the Calgary audience on July 12, and no sooner had tickets for his show gone on sale Saturday than they were gone. In just 58 seconds, according to the Calgary Herald, every single one of the 15,322 tickets for Brooks’ show had been purchased.

Unfortunately, as is the sad trend with such desirable shows, fans who missed the boat later raised their hackles at seeing tickets for sale on big ticket scalping sites, priced anywhere from $275 to $4,500 for seats that were originally selling for just $62 each.

Calgary Stampede Publicity Manager Jennifer Booth told the publication that the event’s officials weren’t surprised at all to see so many tickets snatched up in so little time.

“We’re happy it sold out but we knew it was going to be hugely popular … This is one of the biggest shows we’ve ever had.” In fact, the show was the fastest-selling show in the entire 100-year history of the Calgary Stampede. As this is the 100th anniversary of the live music fest, Brooks said in an earlier interview that he’s honored to be a part of the centennial celebration.

“I was lucky enough to get to play Cheyenne on their 100th,” he said. ”When the invitation to play Calgary’s 100th came in, I didn’t think twice.”
