Meanwhile, twice as many consumers, 33%, will be spending less money this season, while 15% will spend more. All-in-all, Americans plan to spend an average of 48 hours on holiday-related activities this year, according to the poll. This is how it breaks down:

•14 hours celebrating with friends or family
•9 hours traveling
•3 hours waiting in checkout lines
•3 hours wrapping gifts
