I developed my taste for coffee at a young age, thanks to my grandpa and grandma.

I remember being around 9 years old and sitting at the kitchen table for breakfast when Grandpa let me have my first cup of coffee. Of course, he made my cup just like how he drank his coffee -- full of sugar and creamer! I still drink it that way to this very day. I like to think of it as I'm having a cup of coffee with Grandpa who is up in heaven sitting with his cup.

My grandma always told me not to wash the coffee pot out because it adds to the flavor of the coffee.

To this day I don't clean my coffee pot out. It drives certain friends and family members crazy!

But I may have to rethink the not-cleaning-my-coffee-pot logic because of a new study that shows the coffee pot is a bacteria mecca! Yeast and mold were found as well as coliform, which is a form of fecal bacteria that includes E. coli.

The study says to clean out your coffee pot at least once a month with vinegar and water.

Is there something you don't clean because you think it will ruin it?
