Here in the Yakima Valley we are very blessed to have some of the finest Grapes on earth, our soil and climate are perfect for growing and producing the best fruit in the world. One fine Washington Wine product is the very sweet Ice Wine, when serve chilled is just like dessert in a bottle. It can be a little more expensive than your average bottle of wine but that's because of the way it's made and the fact that there is less fruit at the end of the season, but that makes it a delicately. Here is the low down on Ice Wine, this will have you craving what I call the "Nectar of the Gods." Yummm!

Ice wine is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. The sugars and other dissolved solids do not freeze, but the water does, allowing a more concentrated grape must to be pressed from the frozen grapes, resulting in a smaller amount of more concentrated, very sweet wine. With ice wines, the freezing happens before the fermentation, not afterwards.

Here is a link to Gilbert Cellars, I love their Ice Wine...OK I love all ICE WINE!
