Jimmy Buffett takes a fall offstage!! I am alright

Last night one of my favorites Jimmy Buffett just finished a song to complete a concert in Sidney, Australia. He missed judged the distance of the edge of the stage and fell!

Jimmy Buffett -- singer, businessman, and leader of the Parrothead nation -- was taken to the hospital in after suffering a head injury in a stage fall. Buffett had just finished singing the line, "It's been a lovely cruise, I'm sorry it's ended" from 1977's "Lovely Cruise" when he collapsed face-first into the photo pit at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion Wednesday night. The Daily Telegraph reports that the rocker apparently hit his head on a barrier and laid on the floor bleeding until emergency personnel arrived 30 minutes later. Buffett was taken to Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital and "horrified" concertgoers were ushered out of the venue without further explanation.

The 64-year-old Buffett is quite durable, and his reps report he is already on the mend. "As you probably already know, Jimmy had an accident while performing in Sydney last night and was taken to the hospital," reads a statement on Buffett offical website. "The doctors say he is doing well and will be released tomorrow. More info as we get it, and thank you for all of your well-wishes!" Buffett appears to be exiting the stage when he takes an errant step and winds up in the approximately three-foot-wide gap between the stage and the front row where photographers and security guards are usually stationed.

Wednesday's performance was a last-minute addition to the schedule -- Jimmy had already played three sold-out nights at the Opera House and tacked on the Hordern Pavilion date to accommodate fans who hadn't been able to score tickets to his first shows Down Under in 20 years.
