Julianne Hough Talks Slapping Issues On ‘Footloose’

Big week at the box office for "Footloose" and Julianne Hough. Dancing in “Footloose” was a breeze for Julianne – but she found the emotional scenes in the film much tougher. The hardest was when she has to confess to her father that she was no longer a virgin. Dennis Quaid, who plays her father, was supposed to slap her, and Hough wanted him to do it for real. Quaid kept refusing even as she kept egging him on to do it. Quaid finally persuaded her that movie slaps are more effective if they’re fake. "Footloose" is currently playing at the Majestic in Yakima
