I make lots of jokes that the Junior League Of Yakima should be called the Justice League Of Yakima but I say it with lots of respect.

Junior League does some great work in our valley and you can be a real life super hero by volunteering for their 2nd Annual JLY Empowers event.

JLY EMPOWERS is an opportunity to give back to the community, and we are seeking volunteers to be a part of this event that will benefit the greater Yakima community.

It's great to help out and volunteer, there are several places that are listed below that need your help.

  • Dispute Resolution Center - cleaning office, kitchen, store room
  • Habitat for Humanity - organizing/sorting Habitat Store donation center
  • La Casa Hogar - paint computer room and living room
  • Yakima Union Gospel Mission - meal prep and serving
  • YWCA -  uutdoor cleanup/beautification
  • Love INC- sort and inventory donations
  • SOZO Sports of Central Washington - clean-up, grounds keeping
  • People for People - Meals-On-Wheels - food prep cleaning
  • Transforming Yakima Together - city-wide neighborhood cleanup; multiple churches/orgs working together, city sponsored
  • Sunrise Outreach Center - foodbanks, Meal service; cleaning food prep areas
  • STAY (Single Track Alliance of Yakima) - outdoor bike riding association/trail maintenance
  • Rod's House - cleaning, sorting and organizing donations

Registration is $20.00 and includes a participant t-shirt if you register by April 14, 2017.
