Kacey Musgraves has made dreams come true for young fans before, but now she gets to realize one of her own. The artist posted a photo on Instagram of Mismo, her brand new horse, which she has wanted since she was a little girl.

“Today is a day I’ve waited for my whole life,” she gushes in the caption. “Cowgirl dreams DO come true, y’all."

In the photo, Musgraves sits gracefully atop the beautiful dark-colored horse, who shares the same hair color as the singer-songwriter. She credits that fact as part of the reason she named him “Mismo,” the Spanish word for “same.” Musgraves looks right at home in the saddle like the true Texas native she is.

The artist has been on the road with the second leg of her Kacey Musgraves Country & Western Rhinestone Revue, which wrapped in early March. She’s also been busy sitting down with pint-sized reporters showing off her Spice Girl trivia knowledge and trying her hand in the electronic pop genre in a unique collaboration with Miguel.

Though Musgraves has not said anything about a new album in the works, she’s always writing, which resulted in a sneak peak of a fun tune called “Five Finger Discount” at a show in January. The cleverly-worded song is everything fans have come to know and love about Musgraves — a classic country style with a hint of present-day attitude — and is based on a confrontation the artist had with a girl when she first moved to Nashville.

“She stole a bunch of s--t from me and was dumb enough to post all these pictures of herself in my clothes on Facebook,” Musgraves told the crowd that night. “Anyway, I caught her. Nothing really happened with it. They issued a warrant but never found her. But I did write a song about it …”
