Kelsea Ballerini showed an internet troll who's boss when an Instagram user tried to take aim at her physical appearance.

The country singer turned to social media on Friday (Nov. 9) to share a screenshot of what happened when one social media user decided to tell her to "lose some weight." In spite of the person's rude remark, Ballerini took the high road, responding with a thoughtful and inspiring message.

"I'm not responding to this to give you attention because you don't deserve that, I'm responding because I am a healthy, normal chick which I pride myself on and work hard for, and want other young girls to see that and know that 'skinny' is not always the goal," she writes. "And for you to think it's okay to comment on my weight or size is disgusting."

She then shut them down completely by concluding with, "I'm going to get a burger now. Bye."

Ballerini received a wave of support for her empowering response, with many commending her for being a body positive role model. Both CMT and Kane Brown stood in support of the star, with Brown encouraging her to "get 2 burgers," while CMT proclaimed, "you tell him!"

Several of her fans also praised her for standing up for herself, with one person writing "YOU GO GIRL!!! You are beautiful just the way you are and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!! Enjoy that burger!" while another woman cited her as setting a positive example, commenting "I LOVE YOU. Thank you for this. You are an amazing human and role model. Your response was so perfect and I’m so grateful to have a woman like you in my life."

The "Miss Me More" singer will get to engage with her many loyal fans when she heads out on her arena headlining Miss Me More Tour, launching in April of 2019. She recently stepped into the world of pop by lending her voice to a new song with the Chainsmokers titled "This Feeling" that's quickly making its way up the charts around the world.

Ballerini is also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the upcoming 2018 CMA Awards.
