While we wait for the official trailer to arrive, Legendary debuted the first sneak peek at Kong: Skull Island, taking us behind the scenes of Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ epic journey into the heart of King Kong’s origins. The featurette offers our first real look at the upcoming reboot, with footage from the Vietnam set and interviews with cast and crew members, and Tom Hiddleston packing a very large gun.

The Kong: Skull Island sneak peek shows off some beautiful filming locations and set pieces, including a more finished version of Kong’s boneyard — something featured in earlier, unofficial set photos. Unfortunately we didn’t really see any footage from the actual movie (aside from some very brief glimpses of what was being shot while on a monitor) and certainly no looks at Kong himself. But we do finally learn a little more about the film and the film’s characters.

It takes place during the Vietnam-era, and stars Hiddleston as Capt. James Conrad, a former British SAS officer. Oscar-winner Brie Larson plays Weaver, a photojournalist and environmentalist who is trying to protect Skull Island, even as, presumably, Skull Island is trying to kill them.

Kong: Skull Island stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Toby Kebbell and Shea Whigham, and hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
