Spring is a great time to make drastic changes, and that’s just what country pop singer LeAnn Rimes did this week. After making an appearance at the ACM Awards April 1 as a blonde — as we’ve known her for much of her career — Rimes took a chance and changed the look of her locks, dying her hair a rich nutty brown.

The ‘Crazy Women’ singer went public with her new ‘do in L.A. on Thursday (April 6), where People’s StyleWatch pinned her immediately as Rimes sporting a new color. While the star looked like a bombshell in blonde, she’s definitely rocking the brunette look as well. But what would you expect?

In addition to changing her hair color, Rimes has also been busy working on her next studio album ‘Spitfire,’ which is coming just months after 2011′s ‘Lady & Gentleman.’ While in the studio recording the new project, Rimes excitedly tweeted, “After 18 years of albums, I never get tired of creating & always get a little nervous. Today, I’m a kid in a candy store.”

According to the Boot, ‘Spitfire’ is a contractually obligated record with Curb Records, where Rimes has been signed since age 11, when she was a child prodigy with a sweet voice.
