Well, it’s about time — Lee Brice has finally topped the country singles chart as a recording artist with his latest single, ‘A Woman Like You.’ Though, being No. 1 is nothing new for Brice, who has already topped the charts as a songwriter on two occasions, both with Eli Young Band‘s ‘Crazy Girl’ late last year and Garth Brooks‘ ‘More Than a Memory’ back in 2007. Brice came close to having a No. 1 as an artist in 2010 when his mega hit ‘Love Like Crazy’ peaked at No. 3 on the charts.

Brice heard about ‘A Woman Like You’ going No. 1 shortly after midnight on Sunday (April 8), and immediately took to his Twitter page to share the news with his faithful followers. “Cheers y’all,” he wrote. “My first number one single … Can’t believe it, hope y’all are having one with me tonight.”

‘A Woman Like You,’ penned by Phil Barton, Jon Stone and Johnny Bulford, is the lead single from Brice’s highly-anticipated sophomore album ‘Hard 2 Love,’ which will hit stores on April 24. The song marks each of the writers’ first chart-topping hit as well. Congrats to everyone involved!
