Local Car Shop Giving Back

Westside Car Care is giving away a fully serviced and renovated 1995 Dodge Avenger to a deserving individual. The company, along with the owners -- Brad and Jessica Witters -- will repair the vehicle inside and out, then donate it to a person for $1. The deserving individual must be involved in the community, leading to making Yakima a better city.

Know somebody who should get the car? Submit a letter of recommendation to Westside Car Care by Wednesday (Dec. 10) and explain why your nominee deserves it. The owners and employees will vote to determine the person they think is most deserving. The giveaway is 2 p.m. this Saturday (Dec. 13) at 1019 S. 26th Ave. in Yakima. The timing is perfect heading into Christmas.

"We have been very blessed to have a growing business and want to thank the people of the Yakima Valley by giving away a vehicle to person who has invested time in the valley." Jessica Witters said.

With the donations of other businesses they can give away the Dodge Avenger in perfect running condition. The Napa Auto Parts and Yakima Auto Supply owner donated all the parts needed to repair the car, and the owner of Frank's Tire Factory in Union Gap and Selah donated the tires.
