He was one of just a few country stars in attendance at the 2014 American Music Awards Sunday night, but Luke Bryan didn't walk away empty-handed. The star beat out two other huge country acts to win Favorite Male Artist -- Country.

Meghan Trainor -- a friend of country music -- presented Bryan the prize, which he didn't win easily, given that he was nominated against bigshots Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean. (Country fans may remember that Trainor recently performed at the 2014 CMA Awards, singing a countrified version of her song 'All About That Bass' alongside Miranda Lambert.)

When he heard his name, Bryan jumped up, ran to the camera and hopped onto the stage. Needless to say, he was stoked -- he gave Trainor a big hug before taking to the mic for a classic Luke Bryan acceptance speech: adorable and hilarious.

“Pretty sure I have red lipstick a little bit,” Bryan told the crowd, gesturing toward his beautiful wife and wiping his mouth. He went on to thank the AMAs for even allowing him to be a part of a multi-genre night, also giving thanks to God, his many fans, his management, crew, band and even his bus driver! He didn't forget anyone on his list. And the moment that made us swoon? When he made sure to thank his "mama and 'dem," like the good Georgia boy that he is.

“Thanks for making my dreams come true. Thank you. Love you,” Bryan said before walking off stage with his new trophy. Pop's new prize Taylor Swift opened the show with a literally crazy performance of 'Blank Space.'
