One of the men arrested for robbing Scotty McCreery and his friends at gunpoint in 2014 is scheduled to go to trial this week.

The News & Observer reports that Mikkail Jamal Shaw has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping. The 21-year-old allegedly broke into McCreery's friend's Raleigh, N.C., apartment around 2AM on May 5, 2014. The country singer and friends were watching Gladiator, and one thought a knock at the door was a neighbor. When he saw nothing through the peephole, he opened the door, and that's when several men barged in and stole wallets, cellphones, money and a laptop.

According to previous reports, the stolen goods included over $1,600 worth of electronics and cash, like McCreery’s iPhone and a $1,200 laptop belonging to a friend. The incident took place at McCreery's friend's apartment near their campus at N.C. State University. The jury selection will begin Monday (June 27).

The singer wrote a message on Facebook shortly after the home invasion occurred:

"About last night’s robbery: Yes, it was definitely a very scary night. Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case. I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case," McCreery wrote. He talks about the robbery in more detail in his recently released book, Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream.

No word on the exact date the trial is set to begin.
