A penny saved is a penny needed for your court case.

Police have charged a Vernal, Utah man with disorderly conduct after he paid a bill with 2,500 pennies.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jason West had some issues with a $25 bill a local clinic claimed he owed, so last month he went to the establishment and, after learning it did indeed accept cash, dumped all of his Abraham Lincolns on a counter and ordered officials to count it.

The police chief said West's actions served "no legitimate purpose" and upset people working in the clinic. Employees called police, who later found and cited West.

If convicted he could be fined $140, which makes us wonder if he's got enough pennies saved to pay that off.
