Prior to last night's series opener at SafeCo Field, the Seattle Mariners not only welcomed the visiting Miami Marlins to town for a three-game series, they also welcomed back one of their adopted sons, Ichiro Suzuki.

The newest member of MLB's rare 3,000-hit club, Suzuki was honored with the rolling out of a red carpet before being introduced to the fans in attendance and being presented with two framed commemorative pieces displaying his first hit in the big leagues with Seattle back in 2001 as well as his 3,000th career hit.

Known by fans in his native Japan as well as by baseball fans around the world by simply his first name, Ichiro was quoted after the game by MLB.com's Doug Miller as saying that Seattle is, and will always be, his home.

The Mariners used the Facebook Live application to broadcast the ceremony via social media. Cue in at the 3:30 mark.
