The Seahawks signed free agent quarterback Matt Flynn from the Green Bay Packers to a three year deal on Sunday. Will this be the move that gets the Seahawks back in the playoff picture?

Before Peyton Manning entered into the market, Matt Flynn was projected to be the most sought after free agent quarterback this off season. Ironically, with Manning not even giving the Seahawks a look and reportedly headed for Denver, Seattle may have ended up with the the player they wanted all along. After visits to Seattle and Miami, Flynn agreed to a three year, $26M contract with $10M guaranteed.

With the Seahawks, Flynn joins a team with only two quarterbacks on its roster – incumbent starter Tarvaris Jackson, who was signed in free agency last year; and Josh Portis, who made the 53-man roster last season as a rookie free agent. Charlie Whitehurst, the backup the past two seasons, was an unrestricted free agent and agreed to rejoin the San Diego Chargers on Friday.

Coach Pete Carrol said Sunday:“We are really excited to bring Matt in here to compete with Tarvaris (Jackson)”

So, with the Seahawks finally making a big splash in free agency, we would like our News/Talk KIT Seahawks fans to take part in our poll.
