Jennifer Nettles and Matt Nathanson are working together again.

On Aug. 6, Nathanson shared a photo of the country star behind the mic in a Los Angeles recording studio, presumably recording new music. The pop-rock singer-songwriter humorously called the photo a "throwback" photo, since it was from the day before, Saturday.

The last time the pair worked together was on Nathanson's song "Run" in 2011. Nettles was still part of Sugarland at the time, but fans and critics seemed to love the fresh pairing, saying that Nettles and Nathanson's voices sounded nice together. All in all, "Run" did pretty well on the charts, hitting No. 4 on Rock Digital Songs and No. 17 on Adult Top 40. The duo also created a music video, which featured clips from their CMA Awards performance that year.

Jennifer Nettles and 11 More Female Country Trailblazers

There's been no further chatter on social media to indicate what, exactly, Nettles and Nathanson are working on, but fans are eager to hear more. Nearly a thousand Instagram users reacted to the post.

Matt Nathanson is responsible for a number a popular pop/rock hits, like "Come on Get Higher" and "Faster." The World Series of Poker also used one of his songs, "Giants," last year to kick off their broadcast. At one point, John Thomasson, now with Little Big Town, played bass in Nathanson's band. Nathanson has been on the music scene for quite some time, having released his first album in 1993.

Both he and Nettles are staying busy with (separate) tour dates through the end of the year. Nettles put out a solo country album, Playing With Fire in 2016. Nathanson, on the other hand, hasn't put out any new music since 2015.
