Tuesday night brought another trip to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital's ER with my son Benjamin, who should have his own punch card for the place!

He plays high school soccer, and during the game he collided with another kid running full speed. It knocked him flat on the ground as well as knocking the wind out of him.

The coach pulled him from the game to check him for a concussion. He was fine and in true Benjamin spirit, he wanted to go back into the game. Eventually he returned -- and he went on to score a goal.

He played the rest of the game. But when he got home he started to get a headache, neck pain and he felt like his ears where clogged. All signs of a concussion.

I made the mom decision to take him to the ER to get him checked ... based on his high pain tolerance. This is the kid who fractured his back without realizing it, and continued to play soccer as well as basketball for three months. He fractured his arm during baseball, then played for a week before it started to bother him. He had stitches in his lip without any novocaine to numb it.

Not to mention stitches in his forehead from being hit during baseball practice with a metal bat. And his knee surgery for a torn meniscus.

This all adds up to A LOT of gray hair for me!

What's the craziest thing that has sent you to the ER?
