When Miley Cyrus took the stage at Ariana Grande‘s One Love Manchester concert on Sunday (June 4), she wanted everyone to feel “Inspired.”

The superstar debuted her new song titled “Inspired” during a recent performance on the Today showrevealing that she wrote it about her dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. But in front of the crowd at the Manchester benefit show, Cyrus offered the song up to something bigger.

“This song I would like to dedicate to all of your amazing people here and all the people that have been affected by this tragic event. Everyone getting back on their feet, I am so proud of you,” she proclaimed. “It’s for everyone here tonight and around the world.”

Cyrus followed the passionate speech with an equally poignant and emotional performance of the lovely song that features nothing more than her voice, a simple acoustic guitar and heartwarming lyrics about how when life’s struggles get her down, her dad is always there to inspire hope. The jam packed crowd swayed and raised their hands in support as Cyrus sang: “We are meant for more / Pull the handle on the door, that opens up to change / I know that sounds so strange / ‘Cause you’ve always felt so small, but know you aren’t at all.”

The song was the perfect selection for the occasion, with some fans even crying as they sang along. The pop superstar was just one of many performers who took the stage at One Love Manchester benefit concert to support the victims of the bombing that occurred after Grande’s show at the Manchester Arena on May 22. The tragedy claimed the lives 23 individuals and injured several others. In addition to Grande and Cyrus, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Pharrell Williams and many more performed at One Love Manchester in honor of those affected.
