Rising country singer Mo Pitney and his wife welcomed their first child on Thursday (Jan. 12).

The couple's daughter arrived ahead of schedule, giving them a few tense moments.

"Well, Evelyne Nadine decided to have her birthday early!" the singer posted to Instagram along with an adorable picture of his newborn daughter. "Em and I had a number of scares this morning but God intercepted every one of them with His powerful sovereign love.. I couldn't be more thankful to have our baby and my wife safe and loved."

The "Boy & a Girl Thing" singer and his wife, Emily, announced they were expecting in August of 2016, and revealed the baby's sex and name in September.

“We are revealing the name now because we wanted to introduce this living human being to the world as soon as possible … We already love her very much," Pitney posted to social media.

The 23-year-old traditional country singer-songwriter and guitarist released his debut album, Behind This Guitar, in October of 2016. The album contains his debut single, "Country," and its follow-up," "Boy & a Girl Thing." Pitney's current single from the project is "Everywhere."
