Montgomery Gentry to Headline Hits for the Homeless Benefit Concert

Montgomery Gentry will headline Hits for the Homeless, a benefit concert on May 9, at the Factory at Franklin/Jamison Hall in Franklin, Tenn.

In addition to the country duo's intimate acoustic performance, the evening will include dinner and a silent auction. All proceeds raised from the evening will go directly to Layman Lessons, which supplies bottled water canteens, survival rescue blankets and food for the local homeless. “I feel so fortunate to have Eddie and Troy sign on for this event,” Layman Lessons founder Louie Johnston, Jr. says in a press release. “It is so important to spread the word about Layman Lessons and raise money for a great cause in Middle Tennessee.”

Layman Lessons has served people with addictions, homelessness and mental illness in the local community for 30 years. It is a cause important to the duo, as last year Eddie Montgomery's son, Hunter, died of an overdose. His ex-wife opened up about the loss of their 19-year-old son in the hopes that their family's story might help others.

Montgomery Gentry are also set to perform at WE Fest in Minnesota in August.
