My Clothing Connection with 49ers’ Coach Jim Harbaugh – Brian’s Blog [VIDEO]

A revelation about the San Francisco coach's wardrobe makes me realize that the two of us have at least one thing in common.

San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh always seems to wear the same clothes on the sidelines: pleated khakis and a tucked-in black sweatshirt. Even in the below-zero temperatures in Green Bay recently, that's what Harbaugh was wearing. Maybe he layered up a bit, I don't know.

It seems that the coach's lack of style hasn't gone unnoticed. On Wednesday, a couple of San Francisco radio hosts went after Harbaugh's clothing choices.

Harbaugh's wife Sarah called in to deflect the blame for the coach's lack of sartorial sensibility:

“I will not take the blame for his outfits,” Sarah Harbaugh said on the radio show. “I’ve thrown (the pleated khakis) away many of times. I’ve asked him, please — pleats are gone!”

“The thing is, he just doesn’t care. And I’ve told him so many times, that outfit reflects on me,” she continued. “And he pulls them up to the middle of his stomach, and I’m like, this is not a good look. You’re aging yourself 50 years; you look like Rain Main.”

Where does the coach shop for those pants?

“It’s not just any store, you have to find them at a Walmart,” Sarah Harbaugh said. “I threw them out, and when he went to the combine, he found a Walmart. Eight dollars!”

That's where my connection to Jim Harbaugh comes in. I admit that I buy $10 jeans at Walmart, but I'm a local broadcaster with five kids, not an NFL head coach that makes $25 million a year.

Yeah, it's a bit of a reach, but it's one of those weeks where you want to write about any connection to this weekend's Seahawks-49ers game!
