The former Seattle Supersonics, now the Oklahoma City Thunder, have  advanced into the NBA western conference finals for the second year in a row.  A T-shirt designed by an Oklahoma City company just rubbed salt  into a wound felt by Sonics fans for years now.

The departure of the Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma City where they became the Thunder is still a very sore spot for many sports fans in the northwest. What makes it worse is the success of the team in Oklahoma City, where it eliminated the L.A. Lakers in the playoffs to advance to the western conference finals.

An Oklahoma City sportswear company, Warpaint Clothing, came up with a T-shirt design that has enraged normally passive Seattle residents.

The design is reminiscent of the old Sonics logo, depicting the Seattle skyline inside a basketball.

It’s the back that really sent Sonics fans over the edge.

Warpaint Clothing was inundated with hate email, taking the shirts off of their site yesterday, but they were back up today.

Warpaint Clothing is not affiliated with the NBA team.

What do you think about the shirts?
