One Yakima Vet to Receive Wheelchair-Equipped Van

If you are a wounded vet or know someone who is. The local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Yakima wants to make sure your family is well equipped with a wheelchair-accessible van. They are looking to give one lucky vet the keys to a van that will make their transportation issues a thing of the past. According to KIMA, the van was donated by the Sandra L. Rotter's family of Mattawa.

Applications for the van giveaway are being accepted now through August 31. The keys will be presented to the recipient on Tuesday, September 11 following a 9/11 service at the VFW Post 379 (118 S. 5th Ave in Yakima). If you would like to apply, there are two ways to do so. You can email vfw379@gmail.com, or you can stop by to fill out an application in person at the VFW Post, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
