Pasco City Council Lifted Its Juvenile Curfew — Should Yakima Follow Suit? [POLL]
The town of Pasco has lifted its juvenile curfew. According to the Tri-City Herald, the City Council dropped the ordinance last week after concluding the 22-year-old curfew was unenforceable and possibly unconstitutional.
The city's action raises a similar question for Yakima.
Pasco's repealed rule banned anyone 17 or younger from being out on the streets between midnight and 5 a.m.
Yakima city codes currently forbid anyone under 18 from being out from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m. Saturdays and Sunday.
What if Yakima lifted its curfew, too? Do you think night gang activity would increase?
Take the poll and let us know.
